Welcome to the 15th Annual Colorado Charter Schools Conference
Please join us for the 15th Annual Colorado Charter Schools Conference, “Focus on Achievement”,
November 6-7, 2008 at the Red Lion Hotel Denver Southeast in Aurora, Colorado.
“Focus on Achievement” is this year’s conference theme, reflecting the League’s commitment to charter schools that grow minds, demonstrate higher levels of performance and forge the new frontier of student achievement.
This conference is the only annual gathering of the entire Colorado charter school community. It is a great opportunity for charter school leaders, board members, teachers, and more to connect with and learn from their colleagues and experts in the field. This year, we are expecting over 300 attendees from across the state.
There will be something for everyone at this year’s conference, with over 40 breakout sessions and an exhibit floor with the latest in products and services for charter schools.

Now Accepting Nominations for Charter School Friend Awards
Each year, the League celebrates individuals that make significant contributions to the charter school movement, and help our schools focus on achievement. The Charter School Friend Awards are presented in the following three categories:
Policy Award
The Policy Award is given to a person who has helped influence legislative policies that positively affect charter school development. Last year’s recipient of this award was Senator Nancy Spence.
Charter School Leadership Award
The Charter School Leadership Award is given to a person directly involved with a local charter school (i.e. board member, administrator, teacher, parent) that has been influential in developing or maintaining a charter school, or has been highly successful in promoting the charter school movement as a whole. Last year’s recipient of this award was Tony Fontana from Peak to Peak Charter School.
Authorizer Leadership Award
The Authorizer Leadership Award is given to a representative of a charter school authorizer, who has gone above and beyond to help local charter schools become successful. Last year’s recipient of this award was Randy DeHoff and the Charter School Institute.
Take advantage of this opportunity to nominate individuals that you believe have made a positive contribution to charter schools in Colorado. The deadline for nominate is September 22, 2008. Click here to complete the online nomination Form.
