Description

Mountain Phoenix Community School will provide an arts-based, Waldorf inspired developmentally appropriate education that nurtures the whole child: Head, Heart, and Hand. The school will provide a safe, healthy, and rich learning environment where academic achievement is strengthened as students cultivate meaningful connections to their intellectual, physical, and creative capacities. Classes are taught in a non-graded multi-age setting where integrated curriculum and cooperative learning will be implemented. Learning will be experiential and individually based using all learning styles. MPCS will provide a multicultural education with a strong foreign language program. Further, a deep connection to nature will be supported through the use of high quality, natural materials as well as seasonal studies and outdoor activities set in our mountain community. The school will reach out to the larger community through parent education programs, public performances and seasonal celebrations. The school will be centrally located in Coal Creek Canyon, about 30 minutes from Denver, Boulder and Golden (10 minutes west from intersection of Hwys 72 and 93).
