Job Description:

West Denver Preparatory Charter School, a successful charter school network of four Denver schools serving predominantly students of color from low-income families, will operate six middle school campuses and one high school campus in the 2012-2013 school year serving approximately 1,700 students.  West Denver Prep seeks to build upon strong academic student progress, intense community demand, strong school leadership and capacity, and a clear vision for urban school reform.

The Office Manager serves as the primary administrative staff member for the school.  The Office Manager is responsible for effectively managing the information systems, communications, and other administrative systems of West Denver Prep.  He or she works closely with the Principal and the network’s Central Office Manager to manage both urgent and long-term administrative needs.

The Office Manager is hired and evaluated by the Chief Financial Officer who oversees all network operations.

Student Information System - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement a system for tracking all relevant student personal and academic information, using Infinite Campus or PowerSchool.
  • Communicate with the district accurately about these issues as needed.
  • Design and create 3-week student progress reports and 12-week student report cards.

Student Information System - Performance Indicators may include:

  • Student information is immediately accessible.
  • Denver Public Schools’ requests for student information are returned promptly and accurately.
  • Student progress reports are created promptly, are understood by parents, and are easily generated by teachers.

Communications - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment and use of effective phone and e-mail communication systems.
  • Edit and maintain school website.

Communications - Performance Indicators may include:

  • Inquiries to the school from parents and community members, either by phone or through the website, are promptly and professionally received.

General Office - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of supplies.
  • Organization of supplies, materials, equipment and general administrative needs.

General Office - Performance Indicators may include:

  • Supplies are purchases affordably and are readily available to teachers.
  • Office is well-organized and efficient.

This position will begin on July 16, 2012.  Compensation is competitive; the Office Manager is eligible to participate in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA).  West Denver Prep is an equal opportunity employer.
