Job Description:

GALS is an all-girls, public charter school serving 175 girls in 6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade. GALS seeks to hire NCLB highly qualified teachers skilled at integrating movement and hands-on learning into a standards-based academic environment focused on the overall health, wellness, and success of girls. GALS teachers will be responsible for: developing detailed unit plans and daily lessons; delivering engaging, inquiry-based instruction infused with movement and fieldwork; assessing students’ learning via a variety of tools and presentations of learning; and, serve as academic, character and wellness advisors. GALS is accepting resumes for the following position(s) for the 2012-2013 school year:

6^th, 7^th and 8^th grade teachers of math, language arts, science and social studies.

Description

GALS is an Expeditionary Learning School that

provides a college preparatory education in a

supportive environment that fosters the academic mastery and personal development necessary for every young woman to become a powerful advocate for herself and leader of her community. The school represents a standards-based response to the academic and social needs of the girls in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) who face barriers to realizing their full potential. Currently, DPS has one of the lowest female graduation rates in the state at 58.5%.
