Network Specialist: Humanities

Our Mission: 
Through a demanding education based on high standards, accountability, and structure, West Denver Preparatory Charter School prepares students in grades six through nine for educational success from middle school through college.

The Network Specialist: Humanities will be responsible for the effective implementation of an outstanding, standards-based curriculum in the discipline of Humanities.  The Network Specialist will report to the Chief Curriculum Officer.

Primary Responsibilities    
•    Ensure that teachers develop high quality curriculum using Curriculum Alignment Templates (CAT) and Regular Assessment Program (RAP) tests.
•    Support teachers with the curriculum development process and critique their work.
•    Collaborate with other leadership team members to provide excellent professional development to all teachers.
•    Supervise and support the Humanities team specialists as they establish daily learning objectives and evaluate curricular quality.
•    Develop and improve curricular resources available to all math and science teachers.    


Performance Indicators may include:
•    50% of 7th grade students in year 2, and 75% of 8th grade students in year 3, achieve proficiency on CSAP tests of math and science.
•    In a cohort analysis of longitudinal growth, students will achieve growth on the NWEA MAPS assessments equal to 1.5 times their expected RIT score growth, as established by NWEA, between the beginning and end of the school year.
•    Teachers develop detailed, comprehensive CATs and RAP tests by the first day of school each year.
•    Teachers receive RAP feedback promptly and receive direct support to meet individual student skill deficiencies or class-wide deficiencies.
•    Each staff member participates in meaningful professional development at least twice each 6-week RAP period.
•    Staff members receive strong, detailed feedback on 6-week assessments (RAP tests) and Curriculum Alignment Templates (CATs).  Teachers are confident in curricular implementation and curricula are modified and improved from year to year.

Network Specialists will begin work July 16th, though resumes will be considered immediately.  Compensation is highly competitive; the Network Specialist is eligible to participate in Colorado’s Public Employees Retirement Association.  West Denver Prep is an equal opportunity employer.
