Job Description:

Littleton Academy, a high-achieving K-8 charter school, is seeking a warm and intelligent second grade teacher to deliver the Core Knowledge curriculum.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for planning and instruction of the second grade Core Knowledge Curriculum including Saxon Math, Shurley English, Open Court Reading, Writing Alive, Social Studies and Science.
Assess and monitor student academic progress in second grade subjects.
Cooperative work with students, specialists, parents and administration in the development and implementation of individualized education plans, independent or small group study programs and RTI plans.
Maintain complete and accurate student academic and disciplinary records.
Track and maintain textbooks and other instructional materials, ensuring appropriate level and adequate supply.
Excellent communication skills to include clear and timely communication of standards, achievements, and areas of growth or need to students, parents and administrators.
Maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
Set an example of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, self-motivation, self discipline, and reflection for students and colleagues including the professional development of knowledge, skills and practices.
Follow the letter and spirit of Governing Board policies and directives from administration.
Model respect, personal responsibility, competence, and honesty in every aspect of the job.
Cooperate with all employees: administration, teachers, instructional assistants, para-professionals, parents and community members in the common endeavor to educate Littleton Academy students in keeping with our vision and mission.
