Job Description:

Summary: To assist with daily food preparation. Cashier at a POS system. Assists in promoting good customer relations regarding Nutrition Services. Also, assists in promoting and maintaining good relationships with school staff. Comply with Health Department Standards, all safety procedures, departmental policies and procedures, and all applicable state and federal school child nutrition regulations.
Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• (2) or more years of experience with cash handling
• (0-5) or more years experience with Chile Nutrition program or large food preparation.
• Recommend attendance at Colorado Department of Education (CDE) summer workshops.
• Recommend attendance at American School Food Service Association (ASFSA) annual conference every five years.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Detail-Oriented.
• Work in a very fast pace environment
• Cross train with others in kitchen to be able to fill in and perform any tasks as needed
• Cash handling, basic math skills.
• Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
• Ability to promote and follow building and department procedures.
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate personal.
• Must be able to stand on feet for up to 3 hours at a time and lift 55 lb.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

• Large volume food production, serving and sanitizing equipment.
• Basic kitchen utensils including knives, slicers, thermometers and cleaning agents.
• Computers

Registrations or Certifications: Criminal background check required. Successful completion of a physical evaluation and drug test.
