This position requires the ability to recruit, support, and retain an outstanding faculty. The principal is also expected to remain informed about all aspects of the school and encourage professional growth of the faculty.  The highest degree of professionalism is expected with continued professional and personal development.  The principal is also the face of Lincoln Academy both within the school and to the local community.

Lincoln Academy began in 1997 and is a K-8 Core Knowledge® Charter School located in Arvada, Colorado.  We instruct close to 500 students in whole-group instruction classrooms.  Our mission is to provide rigorous academics using the full Core Knowledge® Sequence, Open Court® reading, Daybook® reading,  Saxon Math® in elementary, and Glencoe® math in middle school, among other teaching methods.  Our specials program integrates the Core Knowledge® curriculum from the grade-level classroom.  We also offer a variety of specials for elementary and electives for middle school, including art, physical education, technology, library, and music.  In addition to academics, we aim to educate students in our Core Values of respect, honesty, integrity, excellence, perseverance, and team work.  We do not allow students to disrupt the education of others and we use Love and Logic as one method to manage behavior and discipline.

Lincoln Academy is a choice enrollment school.  We recognize that Lincoln families are involved with and passionate about their children’s education.  We have a Parent-Teacher Organization and parent-run school board providing governance to the school.   Families are encouraged to volunteer at least 20 hours of their time each school year, with many families choosing to give more.  Frequent interaction between parents and staff forms a close-knit team that provides an outstanding education in a caring environment.
