American Academy, a K-8 Core Knowledge charter school with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math is seeking a Head of School to be responsible for all aspects of running our school organization.  The Head of School reports to the American Academy Board of Directors.  Salary is negotiable to $90K with additional bonus potential.  Position is eligible for benefits.  American Academy is located in Castle Pines North, Colorado with jurisdiction under the Douglas County School District.

Job Responsibilities:
Senior accountability for all functions of school operations, including:
Academic Oversight (ensure adherence to mission and academic success in alignment with annual goals set by the Board of Directors)
Financial Oversight (budget development and oversight, enforcement of spending controls)
Operations Oversight (facility, IT, front office)
Community Relations Oversight
Policies and Procedures (develop, communicate and enforce)
Parent Relations (communications; resolution of parent concerns)
School District Communication (ensure timely reporting of required information to the Douglas County School District)
Supervise and Review:
• Senior Academic Director
• Academic Director
• Dean of Students
• IT Director
• Facilities Manager
• Registrar
• Executive Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing all aspects of a multi-million dollar organization
– Financial management and budgeting (P&L responsibility)
– Organizational management
– Personnel management
– Project management
– Accountability for the success of the organization

School leadership experience preferred
Strong technology experience and skills
Effective communication experience with constituents
Working knowledge of Colorado education and charter school law
Working knowledge of K-8 education, charter schools, and the Core Knowledge curriculum
Background in science, technology, engineering, and/or math a plus
Passion for the mission of American Academy a must
