Bachelors / Masters Degree in the field of education or business / management equivalent are preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
   GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
• Primary responsibility is to assist the President of The Classical Academy (TCA) in developing financial partnerships with individuals, corporations, and foundations who share our passion and commitment not only to the quality education of TCA’s students, but also, to the support and development of TCA’s staff.
• Charged with raising gifts and involving key personnel in the regular contact with prospects.
• Strategically plans and implements initiatives that will advance perspective donors relationships with The Classical Academy.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the President.

SCOPE OF INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
Wide range of people (parents, staff, students, corporations, school districts, foundations, and advertising/news media)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in an office setting and off campus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position. They are included for informational purposes and are not all inclusive.
• Occasional lifting of boxes 15 lbs or less.
• Moving light materials around the school (Chairs, tables, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:   
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Develops and maintains data bases of individual donors, corporate donors, and foundations.
• Develops a list of prospects through surveys and historical events.
• Identify and train key players in the development philosophy.
• Builds a "personalized" development program which moves prospective donors along a path that will produce a financial return for TCA.
• Planning, organizing, and orchestrating regular contacts with prospective donors.
• Directs capital campaigns.
• Coordinates staff appreciation efforts school wide
 
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Assisting the President in administrative duties to include preparation of power point presentations, writing drafts of correspondence (newsletters, letters, media releases, thank-you notes, etc.), and other duties necessary for the operation of the President’s office.
• Attending TCA school board meetings as required, taking note of action items, and giving periodic assessment reports.
• Act as the President’s representative at appropriate meetings when the President is unable to attend.
 
EXPERIENCE:
• Teaching / administrative experience and or management experience.    
• Fundraising experience at the corporate level. 
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge and application of computer software use (Word, Excel, Power-point, ACT, etc.).
• Knowledge and application of research techniques.
• Good writing skills.
•  Adept at public speaking.
•  Able to organize and implement multi-tasking assignments.
•  Strategic planning skills.
• Event planning expertise.
• Applies public service and business techniques associated with reliable customer service practices.
• Works well with people in a team environment.

Conditions of Employment:
