Job Description:

SkyView Academy (SVA) is a new Preschool-8th grade charter school in Highlands Ranch, CO (www.skyviewacademy.org).  SVA will open in September 2010 serving approximately 535 students in Preschool-5th grade during the first year, adding a grade each year until fully enrolled at 625 students in grades Preschool-8th.  SVA will deliver a Core Knowledge Curriculum with an Integrated Spanish language program and a focus on Character Education and Service Learning. 

SkyView Academy seeks candidates who demonstrate:

The Deans will provide leadership in promoting the educational development of students, ensuring thoughtful student programming, consistent operational procedures, meaningful staff development, and a commitment to building relationships with families. The Deans will work with the Executive Director to develop and maintain a school culture that is centered on strong community, accountability, and high academic and character development.

Responsibilities:

  • The Deans will assist the Executive Director to plan, manage, and supervise the primary school’s operations and instructional program.
  • Drive and support implementation of the SVA mission, help set the tone and culture of the school, and hold the school accountable for student achievement.
  • Communicate proactively (both positive and negative feedback) with staff, students, and parents.
  • Provide direction to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services; participate in informal and formal classroom visitations and observations; provide recommendations and suggestions as appropriate.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of technology
  • A minimum of 5+ years teaching experience
  • Administrative experience or leadership role

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: $45K-$55K depending on education and experience

Description

SkyView Academy offers a research-based, content-rich liberal arts program with a commitment to foreign language studies and community service. Staff, parents and students are actively involved in a culture of expectation and support where individuals are respected, valued and known by the content of their character. We currently serve PK - 6th and 9th grades, and are currently recruiting incoming preschool and 9th grade students for the 2012–2013 school year. We will continue to add a grade in middle and high school each year until full enrollment is reached in 2014.
