Description

With challenging academics at every grade level and an ongoing emphasis on good character, the learning experience at Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy equips students to realize their individual potential. Each classroom provides a structured, rigorous, academically stimulating environment free of unnecessary disruption. The Direct Instruction method is used; this approach to teaching and classroom management reinforces positive behavior, elevates student engagement, and emphasizes mastery of subject matter. Learning is fast-paced, highly interactive, and teacher-directed. Students develop the virtuous qualities of citizenship, respect, integrity, self-discipline, and personal excellence through the academic curriculum and the high standards of personal conduct required in all school activities.

Every kindergartner learns to read and write in cursive, learns all states and capitals, continents and oceans, and learns the qualities that made several American heroes successful. Full-day and half-day academic sessions are available.

From kindergarten through eighth grade, CMCA uses The Core Knowledge curriculum to establish a strong foundation of knowledge at each level, including the basic, long-standing principles of constitutional government, important world events, and the essential elements of math and written and oral expression. Sequenced and specific, this classical foundation for education is vital in today’s world.
