Job Description:The Colorado League of Charter Schools exists to improve student achievement and expand choice among high quality public schools by serving and supporting Colorado’s charter schools. The League seeks candidates for the position of Director of Teacher Effectiveness.
Position Overview:
The Director of Teacher Effectiveness will work closely with the other members of the Professional Services Team, including the Director of Member Services, Director of Performance Management, and Senior Vice-President of School Services. This team is designed to provide direct support to schools with the ultimate goal of improving student achievement.
The Director of Teacher Effectiveness will specifically work to improve the overall quality and effectiveness of teachers in Colorado charter schools. This will include organizing networking and professional development opportunities for teachers; working with teacher preparation programs and job fairs to develop a pipeline of strong teacher candidates for Colorado charter schools; coordinating access to charter-specific teacher induction programs; developing curricula for professional services available to charter school teachers; working on the TELL Colorado Initiative; maintaining an online resource library of materials for teachers; connecting teachers to the League’s advocacy networks; and disseminating relevant information, resource, and opportunities available to charter school teachers.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree an educational field is encouraged but not required.
- Successful teaching experience, including experience in a charter school.
- Demonstrated understanding of student performance data analysis and use at the school and classroom level, and effective instructional practice.
- Demonstrated initiative, good judgment and ability to work independently and as a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience developing training materials and delivering content.
- Knowledge in working with commonly used classroom assessments.
- Demonstrated skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and populations.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Some state-wide travel is required.
