    GOAL SITE DIRECTOR

    The GOAL Site Director is responsible for overseeing the academic, student, and staff site-based support operations of a statewide online program. The Site Director collaborates with other GOAL staff to: support data-based decision-making, promote student achievement, and ensure that each student successfully achieves her/his program goals. The Site Director reports to GOAL’s statewide directors and abides by and supports the vision, mission, values, policies and procedures of GOAL, GOAL’s chartering authority (CSI), as well as relevant state policies and regulations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Specific Responsibilities:
    1. Facilitates secondary programs to ensure the academic success of individual students by: utilizing all levels of academic support, conducting analyses of student achievement data, and ensuring that staff exhibit and maintain a high level of professionalism, instructional support, and customer service.
    2. Maintains a high level of communication with other GOAL staff, students and parents to deliver program information and address individual student needs.
    3. Assists staff with implementing program, software, or application innovation. Leads, manages, supports, and evaluates teachers and support staff. Regularly reviews and provides accountability for individual, department, and school-wide goals and objectives.
    4. Analyzes needs and related concerns to devise and implement a variety of methods to create, maintain, and improve a virtual school community. Provides assistance to families in need of additional support to encourage a high level of participation.
    5. Collaborates with students, families, GOAL staff, and a variety of institutions (e.g., civic and community centers, community colleges) while supporting GOAL’s concurrent enrollment, internships, and community involvement programs. Attends civic and community functions.
    6. Collaborates with the GOAL leadership staff to support data-based decision-making to promote student achievement and alignment among curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
    7. Monitors and reviews data to identify and resolve potential problems as well as establish short- and long-term objectives and goals for students, staff, and site.
    8. Oversees and monitors facilities to ensure effective use of resources, appearance, and the health and safety of students and staff.
    9. Monitors and approves site-based financial reports; approves purchase orders and site based expenses.

    General Responsibilities:
    1. Assists in student recruiting and retention.
    2. Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and GOAL staff to enhance the instructional environment.
    3. Maintains a high level of communication (both orally and in writing) with other GOAL staff, students, and parents to deliver program information and address individual student needs.
    4. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
    5. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits, such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.
    6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    Education and Training: Master’s degree in education or related field plus additional course work preferred but not required Trained in a variety of software programs (e.g., data bases, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, data mining software) Trained in best practices in leadership, standards based education, and performance assessment

    Experience: Experience in secondary instruction required. Experience with multicultural and/or at-risk students, alternative programming, and online education preferred Previous administrative experience preferred.

    Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations: Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado secondary teaching license Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado principal license Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license. Must maintain insurance in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and maintain automobile in good working order

    Skills, Knowledge, & Equipment: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management, oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of data analyses, educational measurement principles, collaborative decision-making, relationship building, group facilitation, conflict management, problem-solving, as well as resource allocation and prioritization. Knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology. Able to competently and persistently apply problem-solving skills towards technology issues. Demonstrates computer skills to include Microsoft Office, web-based and database programs; able to competently and persistently apply problem-solving skills towards technology issues. Well-versed in conflict-resolution skills. Ability to mediate conflicts (e.g., between students, staff, parents, or community members) while promoting the core values of GOAL effectively among all stakeholders. Willingness to travel regionally as required. Understands the benefits of continuous learning and takes personal responsibility for professional development. Able to support the professional development of staff. Able to serve as part of a leadership team. Ethical, honest, and good-humored. Strong work ethic to achieve both school and personal goals. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with regarding to students and families.

    Compensation: Commensurate with education, and experience, computer provided, stipend for phone and mileage.
