Job Description:

The minimum qualifications:
Experience teaching literacy to elementary intermediate age students. Masters is a plus.
Willingness to work with small groups as well as working with a whole class.
Ability to model literacy strategies with teachers Kindergarten through High School
Strong inter-personal skills, highly flexible, self motivated, independent worker but also a team player.
Comprehensive knowledge about content and methodology of balanced reading, guided reading and literacy instruction.
Experience in assessing student skills and knowledge in reading and writing, using a variety of formal and informal assessment tools (MAPs, Six Traits+1, DRA2, Aimsweb, etc.)
Experience in using assessment results to guide instruction
Successful in working with professionals who have various levels of responsibility for literacy education.
Proven track record in coaching other professionals who have various levels of experience and knowledge
Successful in acting as a resource for literacy educators, have training in, but not limited to DRA2 and Measures of Academic Progress (MAPs), Alpine Systems, Aimsweb, CSAP
