Job Description:

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Highly qualified to teach secondary mathematics

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
1.               Enthusiastic, flexible, and collaborative in nature
2.               Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
3.               Ability and willingness to meet the needs of all students
4.               Proven ability to use data to drive instruction

Supervisor:
Grade-level Principal

Job Goals:
To facilitate the academic growth and success of all students through data driven differentiated classroom instruction, while acknowledging the needs of the whole child.

Essential Job Functions:
1.       Facilitate the mastery of mathematics skills to prepare students for success in middle school and high school
2.       Use instructional strategies that challenge advanced and slow learners in the same classroom
3.       Provide tutoring opportunities for struggling students outside the regular class
4.       Manage classroom behaviors and student discipline using Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
5.       Work cooperatively and collaboratively with grade level and department teachers
6.       Be able to adapt to changing situations and classroom conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
7.       Foster a relationship with students based upon warmth, concern, mutual respect, and shared excitement in learning.

Employment Period:
To be determined; 6 weeks to 8 months.
