Job Description:Life Skills Centers are public schools that serve students ages 16-22 who are at-risk or have had difficulty with the routine of traditional high school in the past.
We provide a safe, clean, interactive learning environment in which students learn from qualified teachers, utilizing hands-on training with the very latest in today's technology. Our unique curriculum combines academics, life skills preparation, and workplace training. And, when students successfully complete their individualized course of study at the Life Skills Center, they receive a state-recognized high school diploma.
Life Skills Centers have graduated thousands of students since the first school opened in 1999. We now have schools throughout the country, with locations in Colorado, Arizona, Ohio, Michigan, and Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Life Skills Center Response to Intervention (RtI) Coordinator has a variety of job duties, including monitoring the day-to-day operations of the RtI process and any district-level trainings and meetings that support district-wide implementation; collecting and reviewing documentation forms for the RtI committee and assisting with assigning a Student Intervention Team (SIT) to each case; notifying teachers about the days, times and locations of meetings and coordinating any specialists who need to attend the meeting; inviting parents/guardians/significant others to the SIT meeting; assisting teachers in collecting data, and assisting teachers in using the collected data to drive instruction; and maintaining statistical data including progress monitoring, RtI plans, and numbers of students in Tiers II and III, as well as students who are referred for a special education evaluation. Other job duties may be required as the position demands.
***This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week***
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred
Valid Colorado teaching license or license eligibility
At least 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Training in the Response to Intervention Model preferred
Experience in accessing student skills and knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office productsrof
