CIVA Parent Night and Quantum Learning Seminar - March 4
Date: Monday March 1,2010
School: CIVA Charter High School
CIVA Charter High School will host another information night, and Quantum parent learning seminar on Tuesday, March 4, 2010 at 7:00 pm at CIVA, located at 4635 Northpark Drive in Colorado Springs. The seminar is free and open to the public.
CIVA hosted a similar event in January that was so popular they decided to do it again. CIVA parent Dr. William Allen attended the January seminar and said, “I have 4 degrees and lots of professional training over the last 30 years – yet no one has ever told me how the brain works and how students learn as clearly and effectively as the Quantum Learning model.”
The event will once again feature special guest John Parks LeTellier from Quantum Learning Network. Mr. Le Tellier is an international trainer and educational consultant helping teachers and school administrators understand the process of learning and the recipe for improved performance in the classroom and school organization.
After attending the January Quantum Learning Seminar, CIVA Parent Janet Ellis said, “I now understand how I can help my teenager at home to get the most out of what she is learning at school.”
Schools that employ Quantum Learning dramatically increase student achievement, have more fun, infuse passion and build better character. The seminar will provide parents with learning and communication tools to become more effective and involved parents, such as: Strengthening family bonds; Building a positive parent-child relationship; Supporting each other's needs through joint problem solving; The power of praise: identifying your child's strengths and celebrating successes; The four steps to building a healthy brain; How to share the homework experience; How to create homework guidelines together; Creating a supportive study environment; Strategies for becoming an effective role model; Effective study skills and strategies for your student; How to build rapport with your child's teacher; and The 8 Keys of Excellence.
Attendees will also learn more about CIVA Charter School, a public high school committed to ensuring collegiate success through a focus on academics, visual and performing arts, character education and athletics.
“CIVA is excited to open its doors to parents in the Colorado Springs community,” said Randy Zimmerman, Principal at CIVA. “This is a great opportunity for any parent that wants to learn more about what they can do at home to maximize their child’s learning potential.”
CIVA Charter High School is a premier college preparatory school authorized by Colorado Springs School District 11. CIVA is committed to ensuring collegiate success through a focus on academics, visual and performing arts, character education and athletics.
